Thong is a talented Ph.D. and serial entrepreneur who developed 5 patents in Computer Vision and Al during his time as a Ph.D. researcher. He founded his first startup venture with Arimo, a Big Data company based in California. The startup was recently acquired by Panasonic US and ranked as one of the top ten most innovative tech startups in Big Data and AI by Fast Company.
Following this successful exit, Thong moved back to Vietnam to start Palexy. Data analytics is where offline retail is substantially falling behind and losing the battle. Thong saw a great opportunity to help traditional offline retailers, offering a full package technology solution that allows them to see the big picture as well as their online competitors.
He started Palexy in 2020 with one obsession: to put the technological potential of Vietnam to use, and shake up the traditional retail market. The startup has bagged US$1 million in a funding round recently and is currently helping major customers such as PNJ and Highland Coffee.
